We’re super excited to have partnered with Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) superstars, The OCR Girls!
They are a junior female team made up of 3 athletes already making their mark in the senior OCR ranks: Amelia Cocksedge, 16; Jess Cope, 14; and Evie Waring, 13.
Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) is the fastest growing mass participation sport with 5.8 million people worldwide expected to participate in 2018. Junior athletes make up a small proportion of the overall figures, however, the number of junior athletes is increasing and The OCR Girls are leading the way.
We think these girls are great! They’re getting involved in a sport which means you get muddy, your hair is wet and messy and are proving that they can still look strong, athletic and pretty cool with it. Our aim is to help the team to continue their rise in the world of OCR, and the best bit is that you will get to hear and see how they do it!
The girls are going to take their training to new levels by incorporating a mix of Freejumping, Trampoline Fitness Classes, School of Trampolining Lessons and Bear Grylls Fitness, into their training regimes. Our Bear Grylls Fitness courses in Croydon and Manchester will provide 18 different obstacles and varying levels of difficulties for the girls to overcome… it may sound daunting but for the girls, this is the perfect Winter training venue!
Whilst we’ll be giving the team an extra spring in their step, we hope it will inspire you to pull up your Oxygen jump socks and give something a go – whether it’s trampoline fitness, Bear Grylls Fitness, or School of Trampolining classes. Use the girls as motivation to take your own skills to the next level!
You’ll be hearing from the team soon and you’ll even get the chance to meet and train alongside them in the coming months… it’s going to be fun! Until then check out The OCR Girls Facebook page here.
