Mother’s Day is just around the corner and we want to celebrate all the hard-working mums who make up part of the Oxygen family!
We’ve made a list of wonderful ways you can show gratitude to any of the mothers in your life.
I know, I know…Original, right? Or tried and tested, we should say because taking your Mum out for a day of pampering and relaxation always goes down well!
If you’re looking for an excellent spa day in Wolverhampton, try the Secret Garden Beauty Spa! In Glasgow, you can head to the wonderful five-star hotel spa in Mar Hall. Resorts World, NEC and Malmaison Birmingham are the best places in Birmingham to bring your mother to a spa. Aman Spa, Chuan Spa, and The Dorchester Spa are top luxury spas in London. With so many top spa spots across the country, there’s really no excuse not to pamper your mother this Mother’s Day!
Trampolining probably doesn’t top Mother’s Day gift ideas, we’ll admit, but we’re going to try and change your mind about that!
Trampolining is loved by children, but adults also have a lot of fun at our parks. It’s an absolutely brilliant way of spending quality family time. We also have the best soft play exercises for toddlers, Ninja Warrior courses, dodgeball and basketball courses, and so much more! A day out at Oxygen promises a fun experience with a safe and friendly atmosphere.
As an exercise, studies show that trampolining is one of the safest and most fun exercises you can do. A 10-minute session of trampolining provides cardio benefits better than 33 minutes of jogging. Trampolining is a combination of callisthenics and gymnastics and has a lot less impact on the joints than other exercises.
Getting out of the town or city and into the countryside is a wonderful way to spend Mother’s Day. Around 12.9% of Britain’s land surface consists of forests and woods, meaning you’re never too far away from a splendid nature walk! Whether you’re planning a picnic or just a nice stroll, countryside walks are always a superb and relaxing way to spend Mother’s Day. Have a look at forestry.gov.uk for more details!
Live in the city? No problem, check out Visit England for information on the best city parks near you and all the activities you can do there.
If you live near or in London, then planning a trip to the West End to see the best musicals or plays is as simple as chips. You could try some of the more established West End plays, like Les Misérables or The Book of Mormon, but several more recent acclaimed plays would also make for a terrific treat! If you’re looking for something bold and thought-provoking, head to the Young Vic and see The Inheritance! Of course, anyone looking to laugh until their stomach hurts should probably check out Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
Obviously not for teetotallers and children, but taking your mum on Birmingham Tours Real Ale Walk will definitely be great fun for you and her. If she has more refined tastes then the Birmingham Wine School offers wine tasting and courses. We’ve also given thought to gin and ale lovers too. Live in London? Berry Bros & Rudd have very special Mother’s Day wine tasting courses.
What’s better than afternoon tea at a great venue? Possibly nothing. Just Grand! is a vintage tearoom in Leeds with an extensive menu and retro design. Southampton based? Try The Docks Coffee House! If you’re Glasgow based, you can head to the historic Willow Tearooms. In Manchester, you can plan an afternoon at the Tea Room at the Midland.
In anticipation of Mother’s Day, there are many package holiday deals going at cheap prices. Several cheap holiday deals to Europe and beyond are available, with Last Minute and Super Break running discounts. Not looking to hop on a plane? Chains like Travelodge and Holiday Inn offer Mother’s Day discounts and offers depending on location.
